Dr. Will Whittaker currently serves as Director of Music Ministries at Cannon United Methodist Church in Snellville, GA. He has also served in higher education as a professor of church music at Truett McConnell University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
In addition to his local church ministry, Will brings over twenty-five years of experience as a conference speaker, worship leader, clinician, accompanist, and private instructor in voice and piano. His ministry regularly takes him to churches, schools, conferences, and worship settings across the country, where he leads, teaches, and consults on worship ministry and music.
A central focus of his calling is intergenerational worship. This began with his doctoral research on choral ministries in intergenerational church contexts at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and has continued through his book Cultivating Intergenerational Worship, published by GC2 Press, as well as his ongoing writing and blog at drwillwhittaker.org.
Dr. Whittaker holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in voice and choral conducting from Auburn University and the Doctor of Musical Arts in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
